This dongle enables you to use the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features on any Android-based aftermarket head unit. In order to use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto you'll need to install the app (AutoKit) on your Android unit, launch it and connect the dongle to the USB port. Then, connect your iPhone to the dongle via Bluetooth and wait till Apple CarPlay is initialized. Or connect your Android smartphone to the dongle with a USB cable and wait for Android Auto to initialize.

Could you confirm if this enables me to use Apple CarPlay on my RAV4 touch and go 2. Head unit is MM16 version.

No, it’s designed for Android devices. There’s no simple way to add CarPlay/AA to the original Toyota Touch 2 unit. You’ll need to use an Android extension unit with the same dongle (both are available on our website) or the Linux-based CarPlay/AA extension unit.
